Claim deadlines (⚖) (TPA)
Every claim shows ⚖ Claim deadlines on the Notice of Loss tab: acknowledge, inspect, decide, pay and status letters, plus the client's service standards and reporting schedule, each with its due date and whether it's done, due soon or overdue.
- The state's rules: the loss state comes from the loss location (or choose it on the panel). Florida, Texas and California rules are built in. Every other state starts from a baseline based on the NAIC model: acknowledge within 15 days, decide within 21 days of proof of loss, a status letter every 45 days, and pay within 30 days. Texas business days and its catastrophe extension are counted.
- Each client's standards: the client's contact and inspection deadlines (Clients tab), initial reserve within N days and a status report every N days. Claims with no client use your default standards, set in ⚙ Claim standards (on the Metrics tab and on the panel; claims managers and administrators).
- Stricter date wins. When a state rule and a service standard both set a date, the panel shows the earlier one and says what else applies.
- Enter the dates as they happen on the panel: acknowledged, proof of loss received, decision, last status letter, paid, last report to the client. The Claims Queue marks claims with overdue items (⚖ N overdue).
- The built-in rules are a starting point, not legal advice. Check them with your compliance team and change any state's rule in ⚙ Claim standards.
