Launch it (Carrier)

Claimsfy Carrier

1. Put it online

Render (simplest):

  1. Put this folder in a GitHub repository (private is fine).
  2. In Render, choose New → Blueprint and pick the repository. Render reads render.yaml.
  3. Enter:
    • ADMIN_PASSWORD: your administrator password; the username is admin.
    • FIRM_NAME: your company name, shown on the report-a-claim page and in emails.
    • Optionally, ANTHROPIC_API_KEY for AI drafting.
    • APP_URL, the address your team will use, such as https://claims.yourcompany.com/. Email links, including password resets, point there. You can fill it in after you add your domain.
  4. Deploy.

Any server with Node 18+:

ADMIN_PASSWORD=pick-a-strong-one SESSION_SECRET=long-random-text FIRM_NAME="Gulf Mutual" node server/server.js

Put it behind HTTPS before using it over the internet.

Docker:

docker build -t claimsfy-carrier . && docker run -p 8080:8080 -v claimsfy-carrier:/data -e ADMIN_PASSWORD=... -e SESSION_SECRET=... -e FIRM_NAME="..." claimsfy-carrier

2. Add your claims team

Sign in as admin, then add people in 👤 → 👥 Manage users:

Role in Manage usersWhoSees
Supervisor (claims manager)claims managersevery claim; assigns and reassigns
Examiner (desk)examiners / desk adjustersclaims they own or are assigned to
Intake coordinatorintake / FNOL staffevery claim; New claims, Metrics, Storms
Administratoryoueverything, including settings and users

Or turn on the sign-up link on 👤 → 🗂 Claims team & assignments. People who sign up are examiners; make claims managers in Manage users. Field staff sign up in Claimsfy Field.

Claims team quick start.pdf in this folder is a one-page guide for your examiners and claims managers.

3. Turn on claim reporting for policyholders and agents

  1. Open the 📥 New claims tab (claims managers, coordinators and administrators).
  2. Copy the report-a-claim link. It opens a Report a claim page with your company name:
    • who's reporting: policyholder, agent, property manager or other
    • the policy
    • what happened, when and where
    • the cause
    • photos and documents
  3. Put it on your website, in policyholder emails, or in your agents' portal.

When someone reports a claim:

  • Coordinators are notified.
  • The reporter gets a confirmation email with a reference number (when email delivery is set up).
  • The report waits in New claims, where a coordinator creates the claim (Read with Claimsfy, or Fill from the text without AI, fills in the notice of loss) and assigns or dispatches it.

Claims also arrive in New claims from your claims email address and bulk imports, and coordinators can log one taken by phone.

4. Assign and dispatch

  • Team page (claims managers, coordinators, administrators): every claim, with status, examiner and field adjuster.
    • Choose a name in the Examiner column to assign or reassign. It appears on that examiner's screen within seconds.
    • Not assigned shows claims waiting for someone. Download list gives a spreadsheet.
  • Dispatch (on each claim) sends an inspection to your field staff, an adjusting firm or an expert. They work it in Claimsfy Field, the vendor portal or any software, and it comes back to the Inspection tab. Existing staff field adjuster accounts keep working, and while you have any, the dispatch board for them stays available.
  • Examiners can add watchers to their own claims from Claim assignment, but only a claims manager hands a claim to another examiner.
