Sign in from anywhere (remote sign-in) (Carrier)

Claimsfy Carrier

Every examiner signs in with their own username and password at your Claimsfy address, for example https://yourcompany.claimsfy.com/, from the office, home or the road. No VPN or extra software is needed.

Set it up once (administrator)

  1. Put the workspace online with your own address and HTTPS (see "Launch it"). Set APP_URL to that address so every email links to it.
  2. Turn on email delivery: 👤 → ✉ Email & notifications → Email delivery, then Send test.
  3. Add each person in 👥 Manage users with their work email and role, or let them join with the sign-up link.
  4. Send their sign-in. Open 👤 → 🗂 Claims team & assignments → Team tab and press Email sign-in link next to the person. They get your address, their username and a button to set their own password. The link works once, for 3 days. The email never contains a password.
    • No email delivery yet? Copy sign-in steps gives you the address, username and instructions to send yourself, together with the temporary password you set in Manage users.
  5. They sign in at the address in any modern browser, and can install it like an app (Chrome or Edge: the install icon in the address bar; iPhone or iPad: Share → Add to Home Screen).

Give each person the one-page Sign in from anywhere.pdf in this folder.

Optional: office networks only

On the same Team tab, 🌐 Remote sign-in → Change offers two settings:

  • From anywhere (default): everyone with an account can sign in wherever they are.
  • Office networks only, except people you give remote access. Enter your office's public internet addresses, one per line. A single address looks like 203.0.113.10 and a range like 203.0.113.0/24; your IT provider can tell you yours, and Add this network fills in the address you're connected from. Then tick Remote access for each person who may sign in from home or the road.
    • Administrators and field adjusters can always sign in, so you can't lock yourself out.
    • A session that started in the office stops working when the laptop leaves the office network, unless that person has remote access.
    • Every refused sign-in is recorded in 🕘 Usage history.

The Team tab shows when each person last signed in, and whether it was from the office or outside it.

On Render the visitor's real address is passed to Claimsfy automatically. On your own server behind a proxy with a public address, set TRUST_PROXY=1 so the office rule sees real addresses.
