Data and backups (TPA)

Claimsfy TPA

Everything is in DATA_DIR:

  • accounts.json: users, including portal users
  • owners.json: claim owners and client sharing
  • shared.json: claim index, messages, portal messages, authority requests, loss funds, shared loss runs and storm events
  • intake-files/: attachments to reported claims
  • blobs/: claim files, photos and shared documents
  • audit.jsonl: history
  • office/: the back office – office.json (people, vendors, billing, pay runs) and files/ (encrypted documents)

The nightly off-site backup (below) copies that folder, and Render takes daily disk snapshots (kept 7 days). Keep OFFICE_DATA_KEY somewhere safe – back office documents and bank details in a backup can only be read with it. Every assignment, reassignment, report, portal sign-in, download, message and authority decision is in History.
