Measuring rooms from photos: camera scan with any number of walls, doors, windows and baseboards

On the Sketch tab, Scan a room → 📷 Camera scan and Measure from photos measure rooms from photos.

  • As many walls as the room has: set Walls in this room with − and ＋, or tap ＋ Add wall. A room needs at least 3. Remove a wall with × on its card; the walls after it move up. Each wall is measured from its photo (📐 Measure) or by typing its length, with the turn after it (right, left or any angle). Build room comes on only when every wall is in.
  • More precise: in 📐 Measure, start by tapping the 4 corners of a door (inside the frame). That squares up the photo, so lengths are right even when it was taken at an angle. You can also use a garage door, a patio door, a sheet of letter paper on the wall or any rectangle you measured, or a quick 2-point scale. Then tap the wall's corners at the floor and the floor and ceiling for the height.
  • Tips for the best figures: zoom in (＋, two fingers or the mouse wheel) before tapping corners, press and hold to get the magnifier, drag a point or nudge it with the arrows to fine-tune it, and use ＋ Measure again along the ceiling line to average the wall length. The ± beside each figure shows how close it is; it gets smaller as you zoom in.
  • Doors, windows and more: pick Door, Window, Opening (no door) or Damaged area and tap two opposite corners of each one. Baseboard height takes two taps. Types are optional. They all go into the room's details when you build it.
  • Room shapes: a 4-wall room with equal opposite walls goes in as a rectangle; any other shape goes into the sketch and Rooms as its true shape, so the floor area, perimeter and wall area are right. If the walls don't close, Claimsfy says by how much: check a length or a turn, or choose Build anyway. Rebuild room replaces the room after you re-measure.
  • Materials are optional: the room details (floor, walls, ceiling, ceiling shape, baseboard, crown) can all be left blank. In Measure from photos, untick Also add the materials to the rooms to apply only the sizes, doors and windows.
  • Hand measurements help the AI: tap 📐 on any photo in Measure from photos to measure it by hand. Claimsfy AI uses those figures as exact when it estimates the rest.
