Weather on the date of loss (Desk)
Every property claim in Claimsfy Desk with a loss address and a date of loss gets the weather for that date on its own, on the Notice of Loss tab under 🌦 Weather on the date of loss: wind gusts, hail, lightning and rain at the address, from free NOAA, National Weather Service and U.S. Census data.
- What's in it: the highest wind gust reported near the risk and the nearest airport station's measured gust; reported hail sizes and NOAA's radar hail estimate; NOAA's lightning flash count around the risk; rain at the address and at the airport station; the warnings that covered the address; and a table of the storm reports, with time, size or speed, distance and direction.
- Weather Verification: the summary starts "Based on the available weather report data, there was __ mph of reported winds on the reported date of loss." Copy it into your note, or Add to notes. A Weather report PDF is saved to Documents, and Claimsfy AI uses the report when it drafts notes and the narrative.
- No weather showing? The claim needs a loss address and a date of loss, and it has to be a property claim. Reports come from your workspace, so the demo shows an example.
- "The loss address couldn't be found on the map": fix the street, city, state or ZIP on the Notice of Loss. The weather is pulled again on its own.
- A section says "couldn't be reached" or "not available yet": that source didn't answer, or hasn't published that day yet (lightning counts can take a while). Click ↻ Refresh later.
- Wrong date? The report follows the date of loss. Change the date and it's pulled again for the new date.
- Nothing reported nearby: storm reports exist only where someone reported weather, so none nearby doesn't mean there was no storm. Radar hail and rain are estimates. Confirm the weather in the file.
- A paid weather provider: an administrator connects one in ⚙ Weather settings on the panel (name, web address, API key). Its data is added to every report; the key stays on the server.
