AI for every user (Desk)

AI covers photo labeling, estimate drafting, quality reviews, narratives, notes and the file review. It runs through this server with one company key, so every person who signs in gets it automatically. Nobody enters anything on their own device, and the key never reaches their browser.

Online (Render): in the service's Environment settings, add ANTHROPIC_API_KEY with your key, then save. Render restarts it, and AI is on for everyone.
Trying it on your computer: the start file asks for the key the first time and keeps it in ai-key.txt in this folder. Delete that file to change or remove the key.
Getting a key: create one in the Anthropic console (console.anthropic.com) → API keys. Usage is billed to that account.
Keeping costs in check: give each edition its own Console workspace and key. You then see each one's usage separately and can set a monthly spend limit per workspace. ALLOWED_MODELS can also limit which models the server accepts.
Checking it works: 🤖 AI setup in the app says "Connected to your team server … AI runs through the server's key". Every AI request is logged in History with who made it.
Who gets it: client portal users never use AI; it's only for your staff. Field adjusters need a connection for AI features. Everything else works offline.
