Getting the contents list on Claimsfy Contents (import or request it)
On Claimsfy Contents, open the claim from the Contents List Queue (or start one with New Inventory) and go to the Contents tab.
- 📥 Import the contents list: drop the file on the Contents tab. It reads Excel (.xlsx), CSV, rows pasted from a spreadsheet, a table in a Word document (.docx), or a PDF or photo of a written list (Claimsfy AI reads those into rows). An .xls or .doc file needs to be saved as .xlsx or .docx first (File → Save As in Excel or Word).
- 📨 Request it from the insured: creates a secure link. Copy it, or use ✉ Email it or 💬 Text it. The insured uploads their list, photos and receipts, or types the list in, with no account. When something arrives, the 🔔 tells you and 📬 Received from the insured on the Contents tab has 📥 Import (lists) and 📷 Add to Photos (photos). Request links need the Claimsfy team server; elsewhere, ✉ Email the request and attach the blank form.
- A column went to the wrong place: on Check what each column holds, pick what the column holds (or Skip this column). Picking a field moves it off any other column. A Room column is skipped: contents are listed by Item Name. A Salvageable or Cleaning cost column comes in too.
- Rows missing: rows with no description, brand, model, amount, link or picture are skipped, and so are the total row and the signature line. Check the right Sheet is picked when the file has more than one.
- Imported twice: Claimsfy warns when the same file was imported before. Choose Replace them to start over; photos from the earlier import are removed with the old contents.
- A form for the insured: ⬇ Blank inventory form (Excel) has their name and the claim number filled in and imports back as it is.
