Claimsfy Field

1. Put it online

Field adjusters need to reach it from anywhere, so host it on the internet with HTTPS. Render is the simplest option.

Render:

  1. Put this folder in a GitHub repository (private is fine).
  2. In Render, choose New → Blueprint, pick the repository. Render reads render.yaml.
  3. Enter ADMIN_PASSWORD, which is your administrator password; the username is admin. Optionally enter ANTHROPIC_API_KEY to turn on AI photo labeling, estimate drafting and narratives for everyone. Enter APP_URL as the address your team will use, such as https://storm.yourcompany.com/ (you can fill it in after you add your domain). Password-reset emails link there.
  4. Deploy. You get an address like https://claimsfy-field.onrender.com.

It runs on Render's smallest paid instance (0.5 CPU, 512 MB, $7 a month) with a 50 GB disk ($12.50), about $20 a month. For disk size, see "Storage and backups" below.

Any server or computer with Node 18+:

Put it behind HTTPS before using it over the internet, for example with Caddy, nginx or a Cloudflare Tunnel. Phones only install the app and keep it offline over HTTPS.

2. Sign in and turn on the sign-up link

  1. Open your address and sign in as admin. You're asked for your email the first time.
  2. Go to 👤 → 📣 Field team & sign-up link and press Turn on.
  3. Send the link to your adjusters:
    • 💬 Text it or ✉ Email it to send a ready-written invitation.
    • Copy invitation to paste it into a group chat.
    • ▦ QR code to show on a screen at the briefing.
    • 🖨 Print sign-up poster for the staging area.

The company code is already in the link and on the poster.

3. Adjusters sign up

They open the link and enter their name, email, an optional mobile number and license, a username and a password. The company code is filled in for them. They go straight into the field interface, and a welcome card shows them how it works. They can then add Claimsfy to the home screen:

  • iPhone: Share → Add to Home Screen.
  • Android: ⋮ → Install app.

4. Turn the link off when your team is in

Press Turn off on the same page. Adjusters who already signed up keep working, and nobody new can join. New code replaces the company code: the old link and poster stop working.
